Michael Jackson's father fine after car accident

Las Vegas, July 1 (IANS): Late King of Pop Michael Jacksons father, Joe Jackson, is back home safe following a car accident here.

The 88-year-old was taken to a hospital after his black Jaguar hit a red SUV on Friday, reports tmz.com.

According to eyewitnesses, Joe suffered chest pains after the accident. He sat down wincing in pain after walking into a Panda Express next to the accident scene. After paramedics arrived, he was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Shortly after the news broke, a statement was released on Joe's Twitter account.

"Mr. Jackson was in a minor car accident, but nothing happened to him. Not a scratch and he is safe and healthy. Team Jackson," the statement read.

Joe also updated his website with a post about the incident.

"Earlier today (Friday) while in the car with my assistant we got involved in an accident as they drove in front of us," he said before adding that he is out of "it without a scratch".
