Daijiworld Media Network-Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Jul 6: Women in Chitradurga, Koppal, Ballari and Raichur were gripped in panic in the early hours of Wednesday, July 5 as rumours spread that the red beads in their mangalsutras could start speaking any time and that would claim the lives of their husbands.

Soon after that, women were seen making calls to relatives and friends asking what to do next. They wasted no time in breaking the two red beads in their mangalsutras.

Several such incidents were reported in the border areas of Molkalmur taluk in Chitradurga district, at Madakaripura on the outskirts of Chitradurga and also in the city.

Panic-stricken women in the villages of Hungund and Bagalkot taluks in Bagalkot district were also see breaking red beads in their mangalsutras.

The office of Women and Child Development Minister Umashree in Bengaluru directed the department’s principal secretary to immediately hold a meeting with the deputy commissioners and take appropriate action against those responsible for spreading such rumours.

    @ shankaraa...

Invoking our honorable CM Shriman Siddaramaiah in our discussion context is secondary..,

It seems you conveniently ignored my point of contention..., offending our present CM to defend your point is not a level playing argument..., so be it...,

Your sweeping & premature(it appears to me so) conclusion to say that temple/mosques gets closed is something offensive - in fact Siddaramaiah's noble intention to limit exploitation of innocent citizens of Hindustan in the name & pretext of superstition/blind faith (without applying wisdom) needs support from educated & right thinking Hindustani's...,

For your kind information - the degree of exploitation happens in our society in the name of rituals & superstition is incredibly heart rending..., some time even to the extent of human sacrificing...,

Now tell me are we progressing or degenerating or regressing...,

    jh,
    phir bhi mera/hamara bharat mahan...!!!

    achche din aayegaa..., zaroor ayega.....,
    votrasi DOMBARATA..., everywhere uncertainty...,

Siddaramaiah's thoughts are noble when he propose the implementation of superstition act...,

    Girishaa,
No one can draw a perfect line segregating what is superstitious and what is not.
If you think rationally, reasonably and practically, the belief in the existence of God itself is superstitious. Is Siddaramayya going to close down all temples and mosques?

Not done anything for nation but given green signal to unearth hidden wealth in U.P. Chamchas now are after Rs.15 lakhs. Government ready to give money but afraid if same utilised for terror activities. Inka bharosha nahi hai..smart government.indeed after independance.

Vij Good Morning, Do not get annoyed by my comments. This is nothing against Mangalasutra.

I meant to say for such ladies who's husband makes their life hell, drinking and hitting wife and children, having illicit interrelationship, spending money on other girls even if his wife does not have money to feed children. Threatening and spending hard earned money by wife. etc etc. Those husbands are burden for their wife and children and entire society.
