Bengaluru, Jul 9: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Member of Parliament and state BJP general secretary Shobha Karandlaje has asked the chief minister Siddaramaiah to expel district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai and minister U T Khader from the Cabinet. She has alleged that they are responsible for the communal unrest in Dakshina Kannada district.
“Rai and Khader are responsible for registration of complaints against innocent Hindus in Dakshina Kannada district with the accusation of disrupting peace. Both should be expelled as ministers if communal harmony is to be maintained in the district,” she urged.
“There is a pattern in the killings of Hindu activists. Neck and head are targeted and slit. This is a systematic plan. Kerala used to experience this type of killings and now it has reached Dakshina Kannada. Congress in the state wants to follow Kerala,” she said.
“No proper action was taken after RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat received life threats in social media. No cyber laws were used. Though some objectionable and provocative writings are posted in the Facebook page titled ‘Mangalore Muslims’, police have not acted as per law,” she concluded.
