My version of 'Vadakkunokkiyanthram' will be new, fresh: Dhyan

Chennai, Jul 12 (IANS): Director Dhyan Sreenivasan, son of veteran writer-actor Sreenivasan, says his version of his father's widely popular yesteryear Malayalam classic "Vadakkunokkiyanthram" will be new and fresh.

Dhyan is making his directorial debut with upcoming Malayalam film "Love, Action, Drama", a contemporary take on "Vadakkunokkiyanthram".

"I'm quite kicked about giving dad's film a modern-day twist. My film will only have the structure and essence of the original but nothing more. The presentation will be fresh and new," Dhyan told IANS.

The film, which is slated to go on floors in October, stars Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara.

"Nivin and Nayanthara are going to be huge assets to this project. This is a romantic comedy with the necessary emotions and elements to appeal to all sections of the audience," he said.

Even though it's his maiden film as a director, Dhyan is not even slightly nervous.

"Except Nayanthara, I have known the entire team for quite some time. We all share very good comfort levels," he added.

Aju Varghese will be seen in a pivotal role. Shan Rahman has been roped in compose music.
