Mangaluru: Why RSS worker Sharath's death was announced with 20 hours delay?

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 13: As per the purported death report of Sharath, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist who was hacked to death by masked miscreants at B C Road, which is making the rounds in social websites, there was a delay of about 20 hours between the actual death of the youth and its declaration. This has given rise to several doubts.

As per the death report signed by the doctors of the hospital, Sharath, who was seriously injured in the said attack, had breathed his last at 12.30 am on July 7. However, formally his death was announced at 8.30 pm on July 7.

Death certificate

A convention of Congress workers had been organized near the city on the evening of July 7, in which the chief minister had participated. The said announcement was made after this programme came to an end. Opposition BJP and several pro-Hindu organizations had alleged that the information of death was kept under raps in view of the visit of the chief minister to the region.

It is said that Sharath had decided to donate his eyes in case of his death. It is being claimed that his eyes could have been donated if the doctors had announced his death promptly, and that because of inordinate gap between the actual death and its declaration, this wish of Sharath could not be fulfilled.

BJP to donate five lac rupees to slain Sharath's family

BJP leader, Rajesh Naik Ulipadyguthu, announced that it has been decided to extend financial assistance of five lac rupees under the leadership of the BJP unit of the constituency and MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, to the family of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist, Sharath Madiwala, who was recently murdered by miscreants. Naik addressed a press conference at the party office at B C Road on Wednesday July 12.

Naik demanded for immediate arrest of all the accused persons in Sharath murder case, besides seeking withdrawal of false cases hoisted against leaders of Hindu organizations relating to funeral procession of Sharath.

"The funeral procession of Sharath, which began from Mangaluru, reached B C Road peacefully. At Kaikamba, some miscreants pelted stones at the procession. Leaders of Hindu organizations were not present at this spot. Still, the police, instead of arresting the culprits, have registered cases against people who were trying to establish peace," he alleged. He accused the police of acting under political pressure in later days by trying to disrupt peace in the region through various measures.

BJP's local constituency unit president, B Devadas Shetty, urged the state government and district in-charge minister to stop interfering in the police department's functioning, and allow the police to do their work honestly and impartially. Recalling that the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, had declared emergency in the country for crushing the opposition leaders by jailing them overnight, he accused the state government of indirectly imposing emergency in Dakshina Kannada district with the objective of taming the opposition parties.

"On May 26, there was lethal attack on Pawan at Melkar. Chiranjeevi, an activist of Hindu organizations, was attacked at Kuthar on July 9. The department has failed to arrest anyone. Will the minister explain why are the culprits involved are being spared?," he questioned.

He noted that some Hindu youngsters were arrested in connection with the murder of Ashraf, and three Hindus were arrested for attack on Sajid at Adyar on July 7. He questioned as to why people involved with attack and murder of Hindus are not being arrested by the police and wondered whether the department is working impartially and justifiably.

Former MLA, A Rukmaya Poojary, G Anand, Dinesh handary Dinesh Amtoor, Ramdas Bantwal and some other leaders were present at the press conference.

Lost time is hardly going to come back. It may be 2 or 20 hours, deceased Sharath or Ashraf's families are not going see them again.
But we the common people of Mangaloreans has to learn from it. No life is important for these communal outfits who want bloodshed for the seat of power.
Ironically, only common people became victim of those conspiracy only to receive pity sum from politicians who shed few crocodile tears.
These fanatic leaders once again resort to old business of hatred once everything settles. Interestingly no leader or his kin never lose the life for party.

Don't know if anything will come out of it, looks like aid given and case closed. The family can tell off an personal vendetta if any. These trends need to be stopped and focus on helping poor and those in need. Follow what is followed internationally they are medically insured so they further do not aid. If it is a Government's call then nothing much to say. Usually they announce such deaths at night to avoid daylight galattas.

I read a news that Nalin Kumar Kateel announced 5 lakhs to Sharth's family, but what about Ashraf's family who is innocent and social worker?

Alok mohan should should start planning transfer of police personnel those who are working more than 2 years in mangalore police station. Because of these police men secret information are leaked to culprits which helps them to flee easily.

Seems fishy when Satyajith and pumpwel were not there in their residence when police raided

Coz Ashraf who got killed while ferrying a handicapped aged man from a majoritarian community .... Doesn't deserve same respect because of his name...Even media (most of Kannada dailies and news channel are propagator of soft Hindutva) made him a criminal first...While sharat was made a hero..
This is not a new one ...this is going on for decades...
BJP is the last party you should expect donations for a member from particular community killed ....
You know what was the qualification for Modi to become P.M and Yogi to become C.M
The moment Muslims and Hindus start to live peacefully ...BJP wil be wiped out from political space..And they don't want to loose it either..
