Mangaluru: Music for Change to host dance contest with a difference on Jul 16

Mangaluru, Jul 14: Music for Change, a non-governmental organization is all set to organise 'Beat 2 Beat' a music and dance competition on July 16 at Forum Fiza Mall auditorium for differently-abled children and government school students, informed Arjun John D'Souza, co-founder of Music for Change.

Revealing details about the event here on Friday, July 14, Arjun said, "This is a unique music and dance competition, where students have been mentored by professional singers and dancers for a month. The professionals will perform with the students to compete against each other in two categories. 'Beat 2 Beat' also features special performances by renowned Mangalurean band and semi-finalists of India’s Got Talent Rhapsody Out Loud (ROL) along with various dance crews from around Mangaluru. Musician Eric Ozario, director Raj B Shetty, choreographer Yathish and dancer Avinash will judge the competition. MLA J R Lobo, CREDAI president Dr D B Mehta and Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Jeevan Saldanha will be the chief guests for the event."

"Music for Change has been training differently-abled, physically disabled and economically backward children in Mangaluru since its inception in 2014. After conducting dance classes twice every week with professionals at St Agnes Special School, Chethana Child Development Centre and music classes at Swaroopa Adhyayana Kendra and Mannagudda government school, our students will be displaying their talents, hard work and dedication at 'Beat 2 Beat'," he added.

Co-founder Leona Aranha and Disha Prabhu were present.
