Ajman: Gulf Medical College Celebrates Green Day 2008

Ajman, UAE, Apr 28: Gulf Medical College, Ajman marked the world health day through conducting community based awareness – service campaign, the first of a series. 27th April 2008, continuing the World Health Day celebrations 2008, under the banner ‘protect the health from climate change’, the students arranged a ‘Tree Planting Ceremony’ in the GMCA campus contributing to the efforts of UAE to make the country green. The students highlighted the importance of green planet.





His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Majid Bin Syed Al Nuaimi, Chairperson, Rulers Court, Ajman along with Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President GMCA graced the occasion by planting the first tree. The faculty and students planted trees and small flowering plants. More than 500 saplings were planted and given away to students and faculty. It was a fun-filled educative activity not only for the students but also for all those who attended.

The event was organized by the college, developed by the GMC Community Medicine Department headed by Dr. Elsheba Mathew and attended by the faculty and students.
