Kuwait, May 8: ‘Youth Recreation Centre” (Rising Stars), Kuwait presents, the GULF VOICE OF MANGALORE reality Konkani Singing Competition to the singers of Mangalorean origin residing in Kuwait along with other GCC countries, born on or before the 15th October, 1990. Kindly note that those holding temporary or visit Visas for Kuwait, are not eligible for this competition.
The auditions and preliminary rounds of the contest will be held on Friday, 6th June, 2008, at Avanthi Palace Restaurant Hall, Salmiya. 12 (Twelve) best singers will be selected on this day by a local preliminary judging panel for the Semi-finals contest. Basic music with guitar and key board will be provided by the organizer for which the participants need to give the name of song and details of album.
The 12 semi-finalists of this voice hunt competition will be judged by three judges (Wilfy Remimbus, Melwin Peris and Joel Pereira) specially flown in from Mangalore for this competition. In addition five musicians and master compere Leslie Rego will accompany them on this mission. The jury of judges will select 2 finalists from the 12 semi-finalists on 16th October 2008. These finalists will be competing for the Grand Finale along with 8 other finalists from Oman, UAE, Bahrain and Qatar which will be held on 17th October 2008.
The prize amount will be as follows.
First prize: IRs. 1,00,000 (Indian Rupees One Lakh only)
Second prize: IRs. 50,000 (Indian Rupees Fifty Thousand only)
Third prize: IRs. 25,000 (Indian Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only)
The main concept of this show is to give a stage to Konkani singers residing in Gulf. There are many singing talents sprinkled all over GCC who do not get a right break to showcase their talent. This competition will open the doors to bring out their hidden talents.
