Lakumi Troupe to Entertain Dubai with Twin Tulu Comedy Plays

Dubai, May 8: Kishore D Shetty's popular comedy plays 'Anchilath Inchilath' and 'Nambunene Nambodu' will be staged at Shaikh Rashid Auditorium Hall, Indian High School, Dubai on Friday May 23. The show will be stages by the well-known Lakumi Troupe from Mangalore.

The troupe has been performing various such plays to packed houses over the last five years. During their short stint, they have performed over 1500 shows of almost nine plays in Karnataka, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Muscat  and Kuwait.

Preparations are in full swing at Lakumi camp to make their maiden show in Dubai a memorable one for the Tulu theatre lovers in Dubai.

Naveen D Padil : Director of Lakumi Troupe

Naveen D Padil has acted in over 5000 different types of shows. He has performed a notable role in 'Vidheyan,' a Malayalam film and has played the leading role in 'Birse,' a Tulu film currently running in Mangalore. He has distinguished himself as 'Kusaldha Esal' for his outstanding performances in Tulu comedy plays and his well-known sense of humour.
 

Anand Bolar: Thowlava Ratna

Anand Bolar, a versatile personality, has acted in over 5,500 socially-relevant and comedy shows. He has also acted in seven films, performing comedy roles. He was bestowed with Thowlava Award for his contribution to Tulu theatre.

Lion Kishore D Shetty : Head of the Lakumi Troupe
 
Kishore D Shetty has acted in over 450 mythological, historical and socially-relevant shows. He has perfomed in ‘Yakshagana' and has the credit of taking the Tulu play 'Oriyardh Ori Asal' to the Gulf countries. He runs his own business and his love for Tulu theatre prompted him to start 'Lakumi Troupe.'

Vasanth V Amin : Sahitya Siri and Sahitya Vichakshana

Vasanth V Amin, a dramatist and director, he has also scripted and assisted in directing the Tulu film 'September 8' and 'Bhadukonji Kavithe.' He has also directed two plays of the Lakumi Troupe, namely 'Kusaldha Kusaal’ and 'Erand Ereg Gotthu.'

Dinesh Attavar : Thulunada Ratna

Dinesh Attavar is well-known for performing a variety of roles. He has to his credit over 5000 mythological, historical, social and comedy shows.
 

Sundar Rai Mandara
 
Sundar Rai has acted in over 2000 mythological, historical, social and comedy shows. He has also acted in 'Yakshagana' and in Tulu film 'Birse,' besides several tele-serials.
 

Suresh Manjeshwara

Suresh has acted in over 2000 different shows. He has also acted in 'Birse.' He has written three plays of the Lakumi Troupe, namely ‘Ganguna Gammath’, ‘Kusaldha Kusaal’ and 'Erandh Ereg Gotthu.' He has also written the comedy poem collection 'Kusaaldha Rasa.'

Anil Raj Uppala

Anil Raj has acted in over 2000 mythological, historical, social and comedy shows in different roles. He has also acted in 'Birse.'
 

Naveen Shetty Alake : Script Writer

Naveen Shetty has acted in over 1500 mythological, historical, social and comedy shows in different roles. He has also acted in 'Birse,' and has performed for a number of television channels in India. He has written three well -known plays of the Lakumi Troupe namely 'Anchilath Inchilath,’  ‘Nambunen Nambodu’ and ‘Benpinori Thinpinori’.

Dharmendra Amin has acted in over 1000 mythological, historical, social and comedy shows in different roles.

Chandrahasa Kadri has acted in over 1000 mythological, historical, social and comedy shows in different roles. He has also acted in recently released Tulu film 'Birse.'

Nirmal is the musician of the Lakumi Troupe. He has composed melodious music for over 2000 plays while performing in all types of shows and orchestra.

Dinesh is a technician and is also the in-charge of the sound system of the Lakumi Troupe.

Rukmayya is a technician and is also in-charge of the lighting system of the Lakumi Troupe.
