New Delhi, May 17: A special operation group in Rajasthan on Saturday detained a suspected member of the banned outfit Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) from the Sawai Madhopur area.
The name of the detainee is Sajid and police claim is suspected to be involved in Jaipur serial blasts.
Meanwhile, the city is fighting back and cricket is keeping the spirit alive. Security officials say they are taking no chances and are doubling the number of security personnel at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium where the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore Royal Challengers is scheduled.
The police have put in place strict access control and will frisk every person.
"We have further tightened security by deployment of double the number of policemen. We have done an anti-sabotage check of the ground and of other areas outside the stadium. We have also employed extra security guards so that ticket checking is well looked after. Previously, we were allowing more number of vehicles inside the stadium for canteen and TVs etc but now all that is being banned,” said Vice-President, Rajasthan Cricket Association, Bimal Soni.
