Abu Dhabi, May 21: Konkani singing legend, also known as Konkan Kogul (Nightingale of Kokani music) Wilfy Rebimbus touched the shores of Abu Dhabi on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 20 . Wilfy is accompanied by his talented singing family members , wife Meena, son Vishwas, daughter-in-law Sherlyn , troupe members Ivan Sequiera, Babitha Pinto, musicians Pappan- Joswin duo and master compere Leslie Rego . KCO president Robert Rego, former presidents Leo Rodrigues, Dolphy Vaz, Michael D'Silva and core members Bennet D'Mello, Valerian Fernandes and others accorded a warm welcome to Wilfy and his troupe upon their arrival.
Wilfy Rebimbus & his troupe will present melodious Konkani hit numbers as the part of a day-long entertainment event . KCO's annual 'Mangalorean Day' on May 23, 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel, Abu Dhabi. The show will begin at 11am.
Speaking to daijiworld.com Wilfy Rebimbus promised a melodious and entertaining “Mangalorean Day “ on Friday. He was overwhelmed with the warm and affectionate welcome given to him and his team by KCO .
KCO president Robert Rego has informed daijiworld that, limited entry passes are available and those who have not availed of them must do so before they are sold out. "Mangalorean Day is organised every year. We get a healthy response from the Mangalorean as well as the Goan community. The Mangalorean Day will even have songs from leading Goan artistes like Anceito, Mariano Piedade (Peter), Roshan and Norman ” said Rego
