Singapore film fest in Delhi to show Cannes-screened films


New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS): The Singapore Film Festival, which begins here on Friday, will screen "Apprentice" and "A Yellow Bird", films which have been screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

To celebrate the festival, the Singapore High Commission hosted a curtain raiser on Thursday night here.

It started with the screening of trailer of films from the Singapore Film Festival and remarks by filmmakers followed by Singaporean food cooking demonstration and masterclass on the best Singaporean food by Foodhall's in-house chef Debashish Datta.

There was also folk music performance by Zi Jian Tan.

The Singapore Film Festival will go on till Sunday. There will be a screening of other films too including movies celebrating Singapore folk music.
