Mangaluru, Sep 1: Five people have been arrested for allegedly smashing windshields and damaged eight cars parked near Yenepoya Hospital at Deralakatte last month, informed the police.

The arrested belong to Madani Nagar. Eight cars parked in a rented place outside Yenepoya hospital in the early hours of August 14 were found damaged. During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had smashed the window panes of the vehicles parked in the parking lot to thieve.

They also confessed that they were conspiring to target bike riders traveling alone and waylay passengers in vehicles in deserted places to rob jewelry and valuables.

The arrested are also the prime suspects in many cases including assault of Gangadhar in Kuthar, thefts at a mobile phone shop in Pandith house and bakery at Kuthar.

Police sources informed that the accused have involved in theft and assaults.

The group had hatched a conspiracy to avenge the murder of Safwan at Thokkottu and to kill a criminal from Amblamagaru. But the plans were foiled due to the timely action of the police.

A sword, chili powder and a knife has been recovered from the accused.

Ullal station police station inspector Gopikrishna K R, sub inspector Rajendra B and staff participated in the operation under the leadership of south zone ACP K Ramarao. The suspects have been sent to fifteen days of judicial custody.

Good that police were succeful in arresting these dacoits. The chilli powder ,knife or weapon was not important ,but what about their robbed money, jewellery and cars?Whp pays the loss for the cars ?make them to pay ,when not let them sit in jail till it is paid.Shouldnt leave them so easily.when they come out will continue the same.Let them make to work for the loss and recover their robbed things.Hats off to the police who managed to arrest.when they are not obedient, make use of chilli powder recovered from them.Dont let them out.

This time all five criminals photos appearing but dept nit given the name quite surprise. For the sake of publics this is the duty of elected MLA and MP both stand together and ask police dept to give their name and arrange Dhadi Phaar at least ten years period from our South Kanara surroundings after two years jail. If our elected candidate join hand to eliminate such criminal acts no doubt South Kanarians will elect them again as MP and MLA

It's nice to hear that the police has recovered only the Chilli Powder, Sword & a Knife almost after a month.

Good job done by the Police by not recovering the robbed items.

Police is only fit to raid soft targets like massage parlours & beauty parlours.

Why the names of these criminals not mentioned? What made them to damage the new cars? Give them proper treatment. Look at their face. they look like rowdies only. However we should appreciate the job done by the Police in arresting them.. Police deserve award.
