Air India Express from Abu Dhabi veers off taxiway at Kochi airport, all passengers safe

Kochi, Sep 5 (IE): An Air India Express aircraft, which had arrived at the Kochi airport from Abu Dhabi, veered off the taxiway leading to the collapse of its nose-wheel, PTI reported.

All 102 passengers and six crew members were evacuated safely.

A Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) official told PTI that the incident was reported at 2:40 am when the flight, IX452 which landed at Kochi from Abu Dhabi, proceeded towards the parking bay when it veered off the taxiway.

In your article you say that the DGCA has grounded the aircraft. Please take a good look at the photos & tell me how will the aircraft fly in its present condition. To veer off a runway and land in a drain like this is not normal. I would say that the passengers were lucky the fuel tanks did not rupture, otherwise there would have been a lot of causalities. If you read today's news almost 130 pilots from Air India have refused to take their mandatory medical pre-flight screening tests. Does this not tell you the way this airline is being operated? Let us stop this chalta hai attitude & have them answer to the public.

This was a rare incident where Air India Express veered off the taxiway at Kochi airport but luckily all the passengers, as well as crew members, were safe. I travel a lot to many countries but I feel air travel is the safest. It maybe Air India or any other airlines.

Hatred towards any thing is bad. Hatred is a poison which engulfs you totally in due course of time.
You hate BJP, extended to Modi and when both start performing and when you find you will have to bear with them for next two decades, makes you hate everything under them, be it development plans or entities like Air India.
With one such small incidence, you feel happy and dream the end of Air India!!

Here we are focussed only on Air India Express and you have gone 100 miles further to talk about politics.

AIE is alright! I travel almost every month and I do not have major issues. Generally service is as good or may be slightly better than private career. You can not help losses is government owned company in India often. Privatization may reduce burden on tax payer.
