MUMBAI, May 29: A metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday remanded Naval officer Lieutenant Jerome Mathew and his companion Maria Monica Susairaj, accused in the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case, to police custody till June 3.
Mathew and Susairaj are accused of allegedly murdering Neeraj Grover, creative head of a TV production house Synergy Adlabs.
The two had allegedly chopped Grover's body to several pieces, put the parts in three bags and then disposed it by burning in the neighbouring Thane district's Manor.
Mathew was allegedly unhappy with Grover's proximity to the Kannada star, while Susairaj who was aspiring to get into TV serials, was continuing with the friendship hoping to get a break, police had said earlier.
Susairaj has given her confession before the magistrate two days back. However, contents of Susairaj's statement were not known as such statements under section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code are recorded "in-camera".
The media was however not allowed entry into the courtroom where Maria and Mathew were produced.
