Mangaluru: Man arrested for creating fake FB account, posting obscene photos

Mangaluru, Sep 12: Kankanady city police station had received a complaint from a person who alleged that his photo and name had been misused to open a Facebook account by someone through impersonation. The creator of this account not only posted photograph of the complainant in this page but also uploaded several photos in bad taste apart from indecent messages. The complainant had expressed suspicion that a person named Toran was behind this act.

Police inspector of the station, Ravi Naik, got information that the accused was at Yeyyadi. He went there along with some police personnel on Monday September 11 and arrested the accused, Toran Lal Ravate (23), son of Dhan singh Ravate, residing in ward No. 9 of Pateli village, Ambagarh Chowki, Rajnandgaon district, Chattisgarh. On being produced in court, the accused was remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was conducted by police inspector, Ravi Naik, under the advice and directions of city police commissioner, T R Suresh, deputy police commissioner, Hanumantharaya, and assistant police commissioner, K Rama Rao, with the help of some police personnel of Kankanady city station.

    @Jossey Saldanha,Mumbai,North or south,India is a free country,everyone can move about wherever one wants.Why should a bann ?It is not a jail.you went to Mumbai for your familyy to feed,and others too want the same.There are some irre people in all corners of india or Globe,who are not able to count 123,but do harm to others and need psychiatric treatment.Forget about them ,let police take care of them.

    If Toran Lal Ravate had good friend circle, he would have done so. Choose your friends (god fearing) carefully before you regret.
