Jyothiraditya Scindia set to be Congress CM face in Madhya Pradesh

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi, Sep 12: Ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly elections, slated to be held at the end of this year, Jyotiraditya Scindia’s name is doing rounds as the probable chief ministerial candidate for Congress party.

Sources say the announcement of the MPCC (Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee) chief will be made next month. Kamal Nath, who has represented Chindwara in Madhya Pradesh for 37 consecutive years, says another tough decision is due. "I told Rahul Gandhi that we need to have and announce a chief ministerial face against Shivraj (Chouhan)."

There are three Congress heavyweights, namely Digvijaya Singh, Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia who could take up the state’s top job, if Congress comes to power.

BJP has been ruling in Madhya Pradesh for 14 years, and Congress survey reveals anti-incumbency against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan with 'large scale frustration' over rural distress. This may help Congress gain upper hand in the elections.

The Congress high command has a tough decision on selecting the party’s face for the state in the upcoming elections. However, the trio has met Sonia Gandhi and emphasized, "The need of the hour is unity". Kamal Nath told a news website, "All three of us will have to make sacrifices and work together putting individual interests aside to focus on ensuring a win. All three of us have told Sonia Gandhi that together."

Kamal Nath has denied rumours that he has met BJP president Amit Shah to explore options if he is not made the MPCC chief. "I am the last one to leave the party," he asserted.

"I have no problem with Jyotiraditya Scindia being made MPCC chief. I would welcome it and work with him and support him," said Kamal Nath.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is 46 years old, is a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, and seen as one of the younger leaders that the party must promote. Kamal Nath reveals that the trio plans to work together to combat the BJP.

Digvijaya Singh too has confirmed the trio’s meeting with the Gandhi’s and added he has no ambition to become MPCC chief.

The Gandhi’s may make the decision on MPCC chief soon, to start the campaign. Scindia is from the royal family and the titular Maharaja of Gwalior. There are apprehensions that BJP may play the "Maharaja versus commoner" card to outweigh its opponent. However, Congress sources say that they aren't worried about that as Scindia is a third-term MP and is perceived as hard-working and committed.

Congress hopes of survival lies mainly with State leaders.
First of all, reshuffle needs to be done on the party leadership level and they can rejuvenate lost charm.
Do away with dynastic way of controling and go ahead with right way of performing.

India's future is in the hands of younger generation. I fully support Jyothiraditya's candidature. We need young leader to lead the country. RSS/BJP are some what successful is spreading fake news through online channels even hiring more that 1000 people to troll Rahul. Whole of BJP leaders started speaking against Rahul this shows the cold feet they are getting with the name of Ghandhi family. All the best to BJP keep trolling once people realize what you are up to then people will decide what they expect.

Mr. Peter, Udupi. Please don't compare the incomparable. You can't compare a person with bright ideas with another having rotten and obsolete views. You can't compare a person who wants to take the nation forward with someone who wants to it to the olden age. You can't compare a person who is well educated and is forward looking with another who has cow dung in his head. You can't compare cheese with chalk.

This was long overdue and should have been done much before this. The Congress party has several deserving and well endowed, capable persons who can take on the BJP. Instead of bring them to the fore, the Congress is projecting the unwilling or incapable Rahul Gandhi. It is now as clear as daylight that Mr. Gandhi doesn't have it in him to take the party forward. He himself knows it, so does his mother and so do all of us. When someone is not in a position to do justice to the post he has been offered. it is high time to replace him with someone who can do the job. The Congress has many capable people and the erudite Mr. Scindia is just one of them. Whether the Congress wins the next elections or not is a moot point but for the sake of democracy and the nation, a strong opposition is the need of the hour. Nobody should be allowed to dictate terms to the nation as is happening these days. The nation is much more important than any single person, however mighty he might be.

I think Modi reverse count started since yesterday. After Rahul's mature attack against Modi in USA entire BJP bounced back on Rahul. This shows their fear on Gandhi family. Even Amit Shah attacked on Rahul yesterday. Irani calls Rahul is a failed product, if so then why are you scared of Rahul Mrs Smrithi Irani???
