Puttur: Thieves decamp with cash from St Mary's School Uppinangadi

Puttur, Sep 13: Thieves entered Uppinangadi St Mary's English Medium School after cutting the door lock with hacksaw blade and decamped with approximately Rs 36,000 cash and digital video recorder (DVR) which stored CCTV camera recordings.

The incident came to light on Wednesday, September 13. Thieves entered the room of vice principal and the office of the school owned by Our Lady Virgin of the Poor Church.

Thieves ransacked the cupboards in the room and threw the files. They fled with around Rs 30,000 from the room of the vice principal, around Rs 6,000 from another room and DVR box in which CCTV camera recordings were stored.

Several CCTV Cameras were installed in the school from all directions. Their cables were cut in some places. Though there are computers and other valuables, thieves took only cash. The locks of all the rooms were cut by hacksaw blades. The incident took place on Tuesday night.

Puttur rural police circle inspector Anil S Kulkarni led police personnel arrived at the spot and conducted investigations. Forensic experts and dog squad were called.

    Whether it is north Indians or Nepalis,for thieves there is no such boundaries.Yes,I do agree that in earlier days there were no such incidences were reporting.Ever since Konkan Railway started their operation,these types of incidences more frequently happening in almost all the nooks and corner of the district(city) and get away with their bounties by boarding the train very easily. Here only FIR or cases are registered just for name sake by the local police and start hunting for the culprits without any sign of any result.South Indians in general and Mangaloreans in particular are the easy target for them to burgle and loot.But in some cases in the name of north Indians and Nepalis,Bengalies even local thieves are trying their hands more cleverly.don't blame completely north Indians and other outsiders.

    Keep away North Indians, Nepalis except those are for education purpose from our place. South Indians are easy target for their evil deeds. Are we heard these type of theft, crimes before Konkan railway? Konkan railway is very helpful to them escape catching early morning train.
