Bengaluru: Gauri Lankesh saw killer’s face before he opened fire

Bengaluru, Sep 15: Gauri Lankesh had a clear view of her killer. According to the enhanced CCTV footage obtained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Gauri was called out by the killer who was holding a gun.

According to a source, the footage reveals that Gauri was facing her house and opening the gate, when the killer calls her. She turns towards him and the assailant opens fire.

The first bullet enters the right rib cage and the second hits her left rib. Gauri is seen taking two steps back and spins around and takes three to four steps when the third bullet is fired. However, it misses her. The final bullet enters her back and exits through the heart. She may have died within a minute, adds the source.

As per latest report, Gauri Lankesh’s killer came to the area twice earlier on the same day. He visited the area at around 3 pm and later at 7 pm before finally arriving to kill her at 8.05 pm. He wore a white shirt and black helmet and rode on a scooter.
