Saudi Arabia: AMACO Jubail Wins SISCO Cup 2008

Saudi Arabia, Jun 5: AMACO Jubail (Mangaloreans) trounced SISCO team by 10 wickets in the final play off of SISCO Cup 2008 played at Saudi ARAMCO grounds in Rahima.

The toss was won by AMACO  as captain Mohammed Asif chose to put SISCO to bat first, but it lost 4 wickets in the first 3 overs which put back them to score just 101 in  11.3 overs at the cost of all wickets. Shakeel has managed to score 43 in 29 balls. 

In turn, AMACO Jubail started their innings with opener Mohammed Asif and Thanzeel. It was a good start scoring 45 runs in 6 overs while they managed to reach the target without losing any wickets in 11.3 overs. Mohammed Asif scored 58 in just 28 balls and Thanzeel 40 in 34 balls. AMACO won the match by 10 wickets. Zubair from AMACO was adjudged as ‘man of the match’ for bagging 4 wickets. Mohammed Asif of AMACO was adjudged ‘best batsman’ of the tournament.  Jayan Chacko of SISCO and Vidyanath adjudged ‘man of tournament’ and ‘best bowler.’  

In the semi finals, AMACO defeated Blue Star Dammam by 5 wickets and SISCO wiped out KCC Jubail. 

Matches were controlled by umpires Gopalji and Omar.

Awards were distributed during the function organized at ARAMCO ground, by Mathai Chacko, general manager, Qumesh Yahya Al Dageer, president QYD Est. and Samir Al Nasser, president of Safa Sports Club. 



Samir Al Nasser, in his address to the gathering, said that Indian expatriate community is playing their key role in the developments of Gulf Cooperation Council nations while he has extended full cooperation and support for such event in future.

SISCO Cup 2008 was awarded by Hadi Al Najrani, president of SISCO to Mohammed Asif, captain of AMACO.

Prince L P, marketing manager of SISCO compered the programme.

Sabu Kurian, finance manager of SISCO welcomed the gathering.

The tournament was organized by a committee headed by Shaji Thomas and Prince L P.

    CONGRATULATIONS specially for AMACO Team the way they played in this tournment was outstanding. Speacially Semi final Match against old champion Blue Star Dammam it was very intresting Match. Well Done new Champion AMACO. Keep IT UP
