Fujairah, Oct 1: Canara Catholics Fujairah (CCF), the Konkani community group in Fujairah, held their general body meeting recently in Fujairah Church hall during which the new office bearers were elected. Vincent Barboza, a dynamic community leader was elected as the President of CCF.

Vincent has been an active member of the association since its inception. He was the second president of CCF and also served as advisor in the past. He is also an active leader in the Ushers’ Ministry of the Church.

Prakash Rodrigues, another active member of CCF was elected as the chief coordinator while Ovinna Saldanha and Roy Veigas were elected as secretary and treasurer respectively

Various activities to be held throughout the year were discussed and planned during the meeting. Gretta Dias, the immediate past president thanked everyone.

Fr Sagayaraj SDB, the parish priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Fujairah, congratulated the newly elected office bearers. He lauded the Mangalurean community for their active participation in all the activities of the church.

Vincent Barboza thanked every member and promised to carry on the good work with everyone’s cooperation.
