Bengaluru: Green nod to Karnataka's Rs 1,561-cr Harohalli industrial park

Bengaluru, Oct 1 (PTI): The Centre has given its green light to the combined development of Harohalli industrial zone in Ramnagara district of Karnataka entailing an investment of Rs 1,561 crore, a government official said.

The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB)'s proposal is to build a multi-product industrial park in about 904.86 hectares.

"The Union environment ministry has given environment clearance (EC) for combined development of phase II and III of Harohalli industrial park in Karnataka," the official said.

The EC to the project is subject to compliance with certain conditions. The cost of the project is pegged at Rs 1,561 crore and is expected to generate 23,500 jobs, the official added.

In the proposed industrial park, KIADB will develop common infrastructures like roads, water sources, power, drainage and street lighting, among others, as well as social infrastructure facilities like banks, post office, canteen, and primary health centres. According to KIADB, there are no court cases pending against the project.

Land for phase II and II has been acquired and compensation to farmers paid.

Most of phase II is under operation for which environment clearance was secured in 2013 from the state appraisal committee. Since phase II and III will be developed together, green clearance was sought from the central government.

My dear Daiji brothers and sisters,
Let us unite and show the world we are best.My dream is Karnataka attains number 1 position in terms of GDP and richest state in India. So from where we can start,if you feel that state government is doing practical job for a welfare of common man. Then support it.If u r skeptical or in doubt rather giving negative comment ,then do study ground realities ,research etc. Please donot fight here like cat and dog just because Siddhu is not from your favorite party.
Stubborn man always thinks everything should be according to his will, while smart man thinks for the whole of society and agrees with others as it in return benefits him also.

Right now India lacks good leaders with good governance. But we can see this in our state. After massive loss we had during Yeddy's rule, this is ventilator for us.So we must forget which party our CM is.

    To the GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA,
HUMBLE REQUEST PLEASE CHOOSE LOCALS/KANNADIGAS/PEOPLE OF KARNATAKA i.e one who had kannada in their schooling /authentic Karnatakans when you are giving jobs of this project. ATLEAST WE NEED RESERVATION NOW of 75%.

According to the report this project is expected to generate about 23,500 jobs.
I request the authorities to give preference to local people from Karnataka.
A large number of young people in our state are unemployed and feel frustrated when they see people from other states getting all the jobs here .

Among the developed states Karnataka, T.N., Kerala, A.P., Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab come under the developed category of states. Other states are still underdeveloped.
