Mangaluru, Oct 4: An audio that is being circulated on a social website has given the clue that a group of youth, which operates on the lines of terror outfit, ISIS, has been active in Dakshina Kannada district.
This issue became public knowledge after an audio clip shared on a social website went viral. The audio, in which conversation between leaders of a city-based organization has been recorded, is in Beary language. It reveals that a group of youth from Dakshina Kannada, having been influenced by the common ideal preached by an organization, have formed a group to achieve implementation of this ideal. The members of this group wear black and brown colour gowns a la ISIS. The group has engineering graduates too as its members. If the audio is to be believed, the members of this group have been secretly operating from the city and B C Road.
Members of the organization who hail from B C Road, Kalladka, Maripalla and Ullal, propose to migrate to the terrorists hub being operated in Yemen. Centres being run by this terrorist group operate from Yemen and Afghanistan. The group aims at waging Jihad, it is gathered.
Sometime back, a few youth from Padanna village in Kasargod district had gone missing all of a sudden. The notion that these youth had joined ISIS had given rise to loss of discussions. Now, this audio has added fuel to this debate. However, the truth behind this audio has to be revealed only by the police investigation.
In the past too, reports had said on a number of occasions that sleeping cells of terrorist organizations had been operational in coastal Karnataka. Several people including some said to be the followers of Riyaz Bhatkal and Yasin Bhatkal, had been arrested from Ullal and Pandeshwar areas near here. They were said to belong to Indian Mujahideen. The investigators had unearthed the fact that explosives were being manufactured here and some secret operations were also going on.
In all likelihood, ISIS outfits in Kerala, which are presumed to have grown strong, have extended their tentacles to the city.
