Mangaluru: Wilson Kateel chosen for Vimala V Pai Poetry Award

Mangaluru, Oct 4: Vishwa Konkani Kendra has announced Vimala V Pai literary awards for the year 2017.

Vimala V Pai award for Konkani poetry has been bagged by poet, lyricist and author Wilson Kateel for his collection of poems titled ‘Encounter’.

Collection of short stories 'Khand ani Her Katha' written by famous Goa based author Gajanana Jog has been selected for Konkani book award.

Popular veteran Konkani researcher, author and activist Dr Tanaji Halranakar of Goa has received 'Vishwa Konkani Jeevana Siddi' award for this year.

Each of these awards consists of Rs one lac cash, certificate, memento, shawl and plaque.

The awards programme will be held in Mangaluru on November 20 at Ramana V. Pai Hall in city.

Vishwa Konkani Kendra has informed that sponsor of the award, T V Mohandas Pai will be present in the programme.
