Mangaluru: ISIS operations in coast – issue considered seriously – Police chief

Mangaluru, Oct 7: In connection with a reference made to clandestine ISIS operations in coastal Karnataka by South Karnataka Salafi Movement leader, Ismail Shafi, city police commissioner T R has said that the issue has been taken seriously.

“CCB police have already interrogated Ismail Shafi. They have also taken statement from him. We have taken the allegation of ISIS operations in Dakshina Kannada district and other parts of the coast seriously. The issue is being investigated,” said T R Suresh.

Shafi was questioned by the police for two days. The questioning session was conducted on the basis of audio of the leader that was shared in social website.

It is said that during the questioning of Ismail Shafi, the police have gathered some important information.
