Hosapete: Irked by govt hospital's 'attitude,' man carries mom's body

Hosapete, Oct 10 (DHNS): Protesting against the doctors and staff of a government hospital here for not properly treating his sick parents who died in a span of a few hours, their son staged a dramatic exit carrying his mother’s body. The scene has gone viral.

The couple, Marappa (76) and Thimamma (70), were suffering from age-related illnesses, the doctors said.

Their son had admitted them to the hospital on Sunday evening. While Marappa died towards evening, his wife breathed her last around 9 pm.

Angered by the death of both his parents in a few hours, their youngest son Ravi didn’t even ask for a stretcher and carried his mother’s body, hospital authorities said.

Ravi’s elder brother Tirupati said, “Though our parents were admitted in the morning, no action was taken by the doctors to ease their pain. While we were making arrangements to shift our father’s body, our mother too died. The hospital authorities did not make any effort to provide an ambulance or a stretcher. That is why Ravi carried our mother’s body and walked away.”

It is learnt that the couple were suffering from cough. They could have been saved if their given immediate treatment. Ravi took his mother’s body in an autorickshaw, said Anti-corruption Forum president P A Ganesh.

“We know for sure that Marappa and Thimamma were admitted for respiratory problems and were treated on Sunday. I cannot confirm if the son carried his mother’s body on his shoulder and walked out of the hospital,” said Dr Salim of the hospital.

Sickular team has got selective amnesia. They completely forgot that, these issues are happening in CONgress ruled state. Had it been BJP ruled state, they would have regained their memory & blamed everyone including PM.

Hemanth mangalore, instead of taking the political party, just think first.Sad as it is ,both his parents are dead with in a day or hours.Till then they were at home sick for long time.We dont know what wrong was. That sickness of months or year they wanted within a day to treat and get well. That means serious problems of lungs or heart that both had was a serious case.Since they took the bodys immediately home cant decide here what wrong was.Sure doctors should have made investigations .Both die within few hours is certainly very very sad and says too nothing was done to them.Atleast some drips could have given to them.It shows the difference between the rich and poor in our country and hospitals.Heartfelt sympathys to the family. He could have asked for a ambulance .One thing is not clear why did the children neglected parents sickness for so long till they couldnt breath more?out of lack of money.?

All the political leaders who have served the country as ministers MP'S or MLA's and all the bureaucrats should be given medical facilities only at government hospitals for free and all the medical allowances national or international given to them and their families should be cancelled. Then only they will work for the betterment of government hospitals.

We boost of development, growth rate, digital India, bullet train, high tech gadgets etc. etc.

But time and again we see these pictures throughout the country.

Health Care does not get the attention which Govt should have been giving. Very disheartening.

Normally we do not feel this as we have access to health care through private sector and we can afford that. But rural people or people who cannot afford health care through private sector are the one most effected. Specially kids, aged, pregnant women need that very badly.

Still Govt Hospitals lack doctors, facilities, ambulance etc. Many rural areas are far away from hospitals.

I think both Central Govt and State Govt should act in a fire fighting mode to get rid of the problems of health care specially in rural area.

Instead of treating the old sick patients, the government hospital doctors must have administered some remedial dose to relax permanently!
Life is precious or valuable and life is to live but looking at the old lady's dead body any one could imagine the pathetic life & death condition they were living. It is hurtful to the sons but how they allowed the parents to go so low in life. ? Poverty is the only reason.
No value for humans these days, some are lynched, some are thrased on cast basis and some are attacked on communal basis.

This is the fate of our all Govt Hospitals especially in Karnataka…. But few hate groups, one or two such Political Parties and one or two “Negative Tv” channels always concentrate on BJP ruled States only!!! When Farmers commits suicide in Maharashtra or MP or UP becomes big issue whereas Farmers commits suicide in Karnataka goes un-noticed!!! Children’s death in UP Govt Hospital becomes national issue whereas child death in Bidar goes un-noticed!!!

This is the real picture of government hospitals. Doctors and paramedics are worst than vultures (not all, some are so good, service oriented). The main reason is our government system. (For transfer , pay in lacs, for promotion pay in lacs, for awards pay in lacs. .Obviously government officials have to get their investment back in envelopes. If this is done by the patient party doctor could come out of lethergy, paramedics too be came alert. Life could be saved.

Indians spent eight times more on private hospitals and twice as much on transporting patients compared to costs in government hospitals, according to the National Health Accounts (NHA) Estimates. If your parents are a burden to you, admit them in any govt hospital in India, you will get the desired result soon.
