Bengaluru: Government is fast-tracking probes against BJP leaders – Ananth Kumar

Bengaluru, Oct 10 : Union chemicals and fertilizers minister Ananth Kumar on Monday, October 10, expressed surprise at the speed with which Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) submitted a report confirming his voice and that of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa in an audio file, in which they were heard discussing money paid to the party central leadership.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Kumar said, “It took the FSL only 15 days to come out with the report. The same FSL took one year to come out with its report on DySP M K Ganapati’s death. It is yet to come out with its report on the telephonic conversation between DySP Anupama Shenoy and former minister Parameshwar Naik, in which the latter spoke arrogantly and threatened the police officer,”

“The case is being investigated on a fast-track mode just because we are political opponents. When it comes to the BJP, there is fast-track investigation. When it comes to the Congress leaders, there is fast- track closure,” he alleged.

C M Dhananjaya, chairman of KPCC’s legal cell, had filed a complaint in February this year over the conversation about the payment made to the BJP central leadership in crores. The cybercrime police had sent the audio file to the FSL.
Ananth Kumar added that the charges made are baseless and the truth will come out if the entire conversation is played.

Earlier in the day, speaking to reporters, chief minister Siddaramaiah said the state government had not played any role in the case. “It is for the police to decide on its next step of action,” he said.

BJP leader Jagadish Shettar has doubted the authenticity of the FSL report.

Judicial reforms is nothing but fast tracking cases. Centre is using caged parrots to silence opposition and hence they should not cry when the cases are fast tracked. Innocents will be happy to clear the name .

Why is this man getting worried? Let the law take its own course. By the way, scams and corruption are not new to this man. Many years ago, his name had figured in one of the scams too. It was some housing scam, if my memory serves me right.
