Hema delighted over Modi's foreword to her biography

Mumbai, Oct 15 (IANS): Actress and BJP MP Hema Malini feels honoured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has penned the foreword for her authorised biography "Beyond The Dreamgirl".

"I am truly honoured that Narendra Modiji has penned the foreword," Hema tweeted on Saturday.

"Beyond The Dreamgirl", by former editor of Stardust and producer Ram Kamal Mukherjee, will be launched on October 16, on Hema's 69th birthday. Its launch also marks the celebration of the actress' glorious run of 50 years in Indian showbiz.

Earlier, in an interview with IANS, Mukherjee said: "Our PM has written very briefly in the book about his feelings for Hemaji. It's short, crisp and sweet, not rubble and bubble. It's an honour for me as an author and for Hemaji also that it is perhaps the first time that an active Prime Minister has written a foreword for a book on a Bollywood actor."

Hema, married to legendary actor Dharmendra, is best known for her roles in films like "Sapno Ka Saudagar", "Seeta Aur Geeta", "Sholay", "Dream Girl" and "Satte Pe Satta".

One more feather on Hemaji's cap. i.e Forwading note by PM on her biography. She toiled and gave her sweat for promoting Indian culture not only in India but also abroad. She got doctorate, honour in Norway and most recently in Russia. It is my wish that Modiji will recognise her contribution and reward her a cabinet berth which every MP desire. The way she portrays mythological character, when the future generation ask about Kali or Durga, we have no other alternative except to show Dr. Hemamaliniji in those Goddess costumes. Wishing her a success in every walk of her life.
