Unlike many politicians,Mr. Oscar Fernandes is a fine gentlemen. The character assassination coming comments from from US to Cayman Islands and all in between only proves that we need to understand this man.

If he is such a useless MP how does he gets elected? Moreover just because one does not boast in public about the achievements make him useless? Mr. Oscar is asincere politician and God fearing gentleman.Those who have approached him know the truth and his down to earth personality.

Mr. Oscar Fernandes - Udupi (from Udyavar) is a man with silent nature but with high qualities of duties. He is keeping the newsmen away. But during yogasanas he kept them close and encouraged everyone to follow him.

Some readers have misunderstood him and started making bla bla bla. People talk with different styles. An old man was walking while he made his grand son sit on the donkey to go to nearby market to sell it. People who looked at them started on commenting. And then the old man sat and the child was walking. Again people started commenting. The man got down. Both the old man and the child started walking. They saw one river passing by. They pushed the donkey into the river and both started walking. Nobody looked at them……….the story goes on….

Oscar, whatever you are doing… do it according to your conscience. Don’t listen to people. We have enough religions in India and the followers of these religions have to say different things at different times at different places.

Many people do not like Oscar Fernandes and they condemn him for everything. But Oscar is really a sincere, hard working and straight forward person, who has done so much for the poor and downtrodden, without any media publicity.

Unfortunately, the people believe the stories against him which are mostly untrue. Oscar does not like publicity. Even though I voted against him in 1980 general election, I find him more capable than our state Home Minister, Mr. V.S Acharya (for whom I had voted in 1980).

Morevoer, Mr.Oscar is senior Congressmen, with secular credentials. Those who talk so much against him should go and study his activities. What Oscar has said and done about Yogasana and swimming is good for everyone. Let us be more practical and sincere. Let us stop character assasination!

Different views expressed by the public on Sri Oscar Fernandes, Union Minister from our own home town is rather derogatory. People without proper idea of yoga and swimming should not comment looking at his physique and calling it as political gimmick.

A yogic body need not be always slim and adulthood physical exercise such as swimming and also yoga need not cut your lower abdomen. People say'What he has done for his constituency?" People look at superficially and say what this leader has done to us?

If anybody(commoner) happens to meet Sri Oscar Fernandes for any of a favor he shall help wholeheartedly and whatever he assures is done 100%. Almost 12 years back, I approached him at his office at Sugar factory Brahmavar early morning. As a commoner I met him and introduced him as I hail from Udyavar. Oscar Fernandes embraced me and told that, "I also hail from Udyavar, and gradually my father moved to Udupi" he said that means we are from same place.

I placed by request for a help which he just called infront of me to the concerned authority infront of me and said, "my brother needs a favor for his siter through me, that means my siter needs this favor" Within a week whatever favor we wanted was granted and today my sister holds a good position because of his great help.

Dear friends, please do not talk adverse of this gentleman. Many times we join hands with the many public comments without knowing once worth. Just meet him if you want and see how nicely he responds to your problem. I am not supporting him for his party but I support him for his gentlemanly humility and helping hand. I am the one who support him as I have found him as a good humane person.

Well. Most of the comments I read with regard to Mr. Oscar Fernandes's Yoga & swimming experince comments and how it help to maintain our own body, was negative as well as derogatory, even though these two things will help to maintain our own structure strong. It looks like whatever Mr. Osacar Fernandes says, it is considered to be bad or negative.

I considered his advise is positive and started following it in a small scale because it helps my own structure to stand straight. Yes, though I am not aware what Mr. Oscar Fernandes has done to his constituancy from where he got elected four times (I guess), my question to all is, if he has not done anything why they elected him four times? For me this is still a mystery. But today, as I know little, he is doing something to the labour class people.

He made many changes for the betterment of the labourers working outside & inside India. For me he is a silent worker and do not bother any comments. Many other politicians, even though they do a small thing, they make it big, just like 'Bigger the drum, bigger the sound, but inside is hollow'.

Dear Oscar, For your first Lok Sabha election, when I was in college had spent Rs. 1000/- for canvassing you and your party. This money was hard earned by my father.

As a young, I wanted a change and was looking for new & young leader like you make some changes in our society. After the elections you won with a huge margin by defeating Mr. T.A.Pai. At that time we wanted new leadership to lead our country to the forefront. What I have seen you are always diplomatic and saying " noduva & Maduva " that's all. Madiddu nothing.

You are so polite with all people and party. You have not done anything to our place. You get your things done through high command. See J. Poojary elected to Rajya Sabha because of our constitutional loop holes and you help each other to get your things done. Also V. Sorake after losing the election now he is become Director of Syndicate Bank, pushed forward and influenced by whom?

You oldies dont allow the young leaders to occupy the higher positions. You, Poojary, Sorake all are representing Udupi, Mangalore / Karnataka, done nothing to our place. You have spoiled Congress party name by doing nothing to our state. See the wealth of congress leaders, lifestyle and the influence. You want your wive's, sons & daughters to join the party & occupy highest position at the cost of poor tax payers money.

You people are travelling by air & land with chamchas & security staff / police accompanied by motorcad spending / draining hell of lot of public money. You people have no bondry line or rule at all. Dear Claudy Lobo, youu have misunderstood my statement. What I have asked Oscar Fernandes to learn from Tamilnadu or Kerala politicians is - how they succeed to get funds, facilities and projects for their states.

Just Compare our Railway Stations, National Highways and Airports with other states. Many plans which were supposed to start in our State has gone to Kerala by their politician's united efforts. Please give any one example of Mr Oscar's efforts to solve Karnataka's problems - Kaveri Issue, Hogenakal, Border issues or anything else. Absolutely nothing, that too being a very close advisor to Sonia Gandhi.

Why people are discussing about CBI enquiry in Padmapriya's case? Let Karnataka State Police Dept (DCIB, Udupi) handle it. Why people want to make this a big issue? There are many more issues to be solved in connection to the country's development. Why media is covering all these types of shows? Why dont they conduct meetings with public and discuss about problems affecting developments?

Mr T.A Pai died a heartbroken man, because the people of South Kanara whom he had served so well rejected him, only to elect Mr Oscar Fernandes the permanent absentee from his constituency. Has Mr Fernandes even done 1% of what Mr Pai did for the people of South Kanara. Why do our reporters have to follow and provide coverage for this kind of nonsense. This might have been a news if anyone had done other than Mr Oscar Fernandes. He has been showing this kind of his great talents, like Yoga, playing Mouth Organ and now swimming. He seems to be much satisfied for appearing his news coverage in the media just for these kind of activities. Being a Member of Parliament, an Union Minister and a person who is very very close and influential to UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, has done nothing to his own undivided D.K. Dist.

He never spoke on the issues or disputes which have been haunting Karnataka State or Coastal Districts. Is there any record when he spoke for Karnataka State or Congress Party in the state or District. I feel very ashamed for being in such a district where no. of national leaders, particularly in Congress, are just of no help to the people when there is a need. I just request Mr. Oscar Fernandes to learn from Tamilnadu or Kerala politicians, how they work to get facilities and funds from union govt. to their respective states.
