Bantwal: Illegal sand transportation to Kerala - three held, three trucks seized

Bantwal, Nov 3: Police personnel attached to Vittal station took three persons into custody when transporting sand illegally from the direction of Vittal towards Kerala. Three trucks were also seized on this occasion.

The arrested people are Harish from Mangaluru, Abdul Rauf from Beltangady, and Khaleel from Deralakatte. When the trucks were stopped on the basis of suspicion by the police near Kannaya, Vittal, on Friday November 3 morning, the accused confessed that sand loads were being illegally taken to Kerala because of lure of getting higher price.

The police, who seized the trucks and arrested the accused, registered case against them. Vittal police sub-inspector, Nagaraj, and other personnel were involved with this operation.
