Alkhobar: MASA Conducts Free Medical Camp ‘ Arogyave Bagya’

Alkhobar, Jun 25: Mangalore Association Saudi Arabia (MASA) organized Aarogyve Bagya, a free medical camp on Friday June 20 in Aziziya, Alkhobar. This was followed by thrilling and entertaining games for its members. 

More than 250 members and non members took part in the camp. The camp started at 10 in the morning and went on till 12.30 pm. The members and non-members stood in the queue to get their turn and took advantage of the medical camp.

One-touch-sugar-test (before & after fasting), blood pressure, pulse, weight check-ups were carried out by the distinguished doctors under the assistance of five nurses. Each and every member was given special attention by the visiting doctors. Over all, the medical camp went on well.

Dr H Prabhakar Mallya, MBBS, MRCP (Al Mana General Hospital)
Dr R M Vishwanath, MBBS, MD-Anesthesia (Al Mana General Hospital)
Dr Suresh Shenoy, MBBS, D Ortho (Al Amal Clinic)
Hani Waheed, medical representative from Life Scan, Johnson & Johnson brought ne-touch-sugar-testing instrument along with sufficient samples.

The Doctors were assisted by the following nurses:
Olga Mendonca - Staff Nurse Almana General Hospital  (Masa member)
Bharathi Shetty - Nurse Almana General Hospital 
Sulochana Salian - Nurse Almana General Hospital 
Josephine Sequeira - Head Nurse Almana General Hospital, Alkhobar
Sumitra Pradeep Kumar - Ex Nurse Manipal Hospital (Masa member)

Thorough personal counseling by Dr Prabhakar Mallya, Dr R M Vishwanath and the ortho-related consultations handled by Dr Suresh Shenoy were special attractions.

General Secretary Ravi Karkera introduced the doctors to members during the briefing. All the doctors were introduced by the General Secretary and were offered bouquets by lovely kids of MASA. Nurses who were assisting the doctors were also greeted with bouquets along with the Medical Rep Hani Waheed.  MASA executive committee member Chandrashekar and member Jagajeevan Karkera were also invited to the dais and greeted with bouquets for their effort in convincing the doctors to take part in the medical camp.

Ravi Karkera in his introductory remarks expressed the vision of MASA to look in to the health-care of its members by conducting such events and to bring medical awareness among the people.
Hani Waheed was very much impressed by the idea of medical camp and the community service conducted by MASA. He also promised that he shall be proud to be part of such camps in the future as well.

The participating doctors had all praises for the organizers and they committed to be present in the future in any such events.

The briefing of medical awareness ended by celebrating the 12th birthday of Neha Shetty, daughter of Naveen Shetty and Hema Shetty.

After the lunch group games were conducted and members took part in different games with great spirit and enthusiasm. Earlier the members were divided into four houses such as Yellow, Green, Red and Blue.
It was fun watching the members cheering up and supporting their house to win the competition. For men, Volleyball and Dodge Ball Competitions were held, for women, Dodge Ball, Throw Ball and Spoon and lemon race were held and for children Dodge Ball and Spoon & Lemon Race were conducted.

In the group games Dodge Ball for children was won by Yellow House who defeated Green House in the final.  Dodge Ball (women) was won by Red House by defeating Green House and Dodge Ball (men) was won by Yellow House who defeated Red House in the final.  In the volleyball final Blue House defeated Red House. Among the individual games for children in Spoon and Lemon Race Deeksha Bhandary won the first prize while second place was won by Pooja Arikady and third place was secured by Navya Shetty. In spoon and lemon race among women, 1st place went to Laveena, second place to Sandra and third place was secured by Suman Karkera

On the whole every one had a great time out on Friday June 20 and went home with great confidence of maintaining their good health. For MASA, it is one more feather in its ever-shining cap with this great achievement.

    What next? It is the question my wife and kids are curiously asking me about the future event of “MASA”!!! “Aarogyave Bhagya” was a wonderful opportunity to take kitty full of goodies with us. Good advice from doctors, satisfaction and relief after the medical check-up and fun filled sport event for kids, ladies and gentlemen off course tasty & delicious food and lot more. I must admit this was one of the best events out of the lot.

    The motto and the spirit were fantastic. It was a great pleasure to see lot of enthusiastic new faces actively involved in this event. The support received from each and every participant was enormous. We heartily congratulate “MASA” management Committee for this successful event and wish them luck for the future events!!! “MASA” – MANGALOREANS AMAZINGLY SUPERB ALWAYS!!!
