Mangaluru, Nov 11: ‘Feed your Fire’ –Pre Unique 2017, an intellectual and cultural festival of St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr Raj B Shetty, director, script writer and lead actor of ’Ondu Motteya Kathe’.
Speaking on the occasion, Raj said that importance should be given to extra-curricular with academics and narrated the story of a fisherman and gave a message to the students. He said, “How we experience life is more important than what we become in life.”
Principal Fr Melwin Mendonca, welcomed the guests and congratulated the conveners and said that there is magic in the campus and ‘Pre-Unique’ is an event to feel the magic. He also added that Aloysius is a platform to blossom and bloom and discover ones talent.
During his presidential address the rector of Aloysius College Institutions, Fr Dionysius Vaz said that ‘Pre-Unique’ is a platform to ‘Feed the Fire’ not only for creativity and innovation, but to love and sacrifice. He praised the chief guest on this occasion for the simplicity and context of the plot in the movie, ‘Ondu Moteya Kathe’ and advised the students to be united and build a new India filled with love and sacrifice.
The programme commenced with a mega welcome dance followed by a melodious rendition by the college choir. The dignitaries lighted the lamp and symbolically inaugurated the extravaganza by letting up the balloons. The theme song of Pre-Unique 2017 was also presented by Vijeth Ullal and his team. Convener Deepthi Rani welcomed the gathering, and co-convener Tanya Pais, rendered the vote of thanks. A portrait painted by a student Deon Pinto was presented to the chief guest and a trailer of Konkani Video Album, ‘Moga Mojya’ by AS Production in collaboration with St Aloysius PU College was released on the occasion.
Finance officer Fr John Lang Bosco, vice-principal Charlotte D’Souza, programme conveners Inas Dias, Vivette Lasrado, John Vishlim and the student conveners were present. A total of 36 teams comprising of 11 high school teams and 25 PU college teams are participating in the mega event.
