Beltangady, Nov 14: “We should love our lives and with generous heart, hold good values such as sincerity, love for tradition and humanity. We should follow the path of truth and justice and lead a life of fulfillment,” said Dharmasthala dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade.

He was addressing devotees and fans that came on procession from Ujire to Dharmasthala at Amritavarshini auditorium here on the first day of Laksha Deepotsava on Monday November 13.

“It is our responsibility to preserve the beautiful environment and land and hand it over to the future generation. While Dharmasthala is my land of religion, Ujire is the place of my duty. There is indivisible relationship between Ujire and Dharmasthala,” he added.

“Those who are wealthy do not donate but those who have less money donate as they are rich in heart. Humanity, love and trust are found in Dharmasthala rural development project. Free mass weddings, self-employment training and empowerment of women are its missions. Pro-social service is given shape. I do not want to go abroad and boast about them. Everything goes on smoothly with the help from the Almighty when we accept challenges with a smiling face,” he said.

“I do not need police protection like other elites. I travel alone in the car without police in the front or behind. The love and faith of devotees and well-wishers is my protection. I have received royal honour during golden jubilee celebrations of coronation from CM, PM and Mysuru king. It has brought immense joy and peace. Prayers were offered in Dharmasthala during the visit of prime minister here for love, faith and peace so that friendship may grow and drive away enmity,” he added.

Heggade was honoured on behalf of all those who were present.

Vijayaraghava Padvetnaya gave a key note address. Advocate Pratapsimha Nayak welcomed and proposed vote of thanks.

Hemavathi V Heggade, D Harshendra Kumar, Supriya Harshendra Kumar and Dr B Yashovarma were present.

Exhibition

A state level exhibition has started in high school premises here. 197 shops from the department of agriculture, commerce, industry, finance, banking and other departments have become centers of attraction. Admission from 9 am to 9 pm is free. Hosakatte festival was held at night.
