Congratulations to Mand Sobann for the “Sodh” contest to search the new voices which will be able to thrill the next generation of our Konkany Community. I am sure legends like Kadap ( late VJP Saldanha ), Denis Albuqurque, Shibha Mestry, Bennet Pinto and not to forget the legendary brothers Simon and JB Rasquinha …will send down their own blessings from their eternal resting places to Mand Sobann and all the participants.

The contestants and especially the winners have an enormous responsibility on their shoulders …. To carry forward our precious unique Konkany cultural heritage without allowing to pollute it with undesirable western influences…or influences from outside our cultural boundaries, and it is only then the subsequent generations will be able to inherit this great heritage and pass it further down the line …..on and on for hundreds or thousands of more years, like we ourselves have inherited the same it having survived for thousands of years.

Nice to see Edith in the panel of judges alongside with Eric and Joel. I can gurantee the judgement will certainly be fair and impartial given the well-known integrity of the judges. Once again Best wishes to Mand Sobhann and all the contestants and wish them bright future as Konkany singers.
