Sonali, Naseeruddin Shah bond over Marathi cinema

Mumbai, Nov 18 (IANS): Actress Sonali Kulkarni and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who will share screen space in the upcoming film "Hope Aur Hum", says they bonded over Marathi cinema.

Sonali, who is also a fan of Naseeruddin and his work, said in a statement: "It was an honour to work with Naseer Sir. He is an amazing and brilliant actor. We talk a lot about regional cinema. We discuss how there is a lot of content and variety in Marathi films, and about the many incredible filmmakers in (regional cinema) industry."

"During the shooting for the film, we bonded over our love for Marathi films and theatre. We also discussed how Marathi cinema emphasises content over anything. One thing that is common to films such as 'Duniyadari', 'Court', 'Sairat' and 'Natsamrat' is that the content in these films is solid," she added.

"Hope Aur Hum", a Hindi film, is expected to hit the screens next year.
