Bengaluru, Nov 22: A junior woman official has filed a complaint of sexual harassment with sexual atrocity control and prevention committee. She has named the aggressor as S Murthy, assembly secretary. The complaint was filed at Bengaluru on the very day on which winter session of the legislature began.
"I had visited the chamber of the secretary on October 31 to discuss about a file relating to Belagavi session of the legislature. I am mentally drained by the obscene words he used when speaking to me. I request you to take action against him," she has prayed.
She accused Murthy of unnecessarily asking her to attend the session at Belagavi last year, although there was no need for it. She said that the secretary this time too said that she would be posted to Belagavi, duly instructing her to comply with the orders.
The woman stated that the officer expressed her maximum liking for her, asked her to come to Belagavi, after which they can go to Goa so that both can roll on the sands of Goa. He also is said to have advised the woman against marrying off her daughter, predicting that her life too will be spoiled like that of the woman in question.
Murthy responded by saying that the woman had complained against him at the instigation of some people who are unable to digest the fact that being a dalit, he had risen to such a top position. He said he never follows the practice of inviting individuals to his cabin and that all officials discuss matters together. He accused a person who was in his place in the past of hatching this conspiracy.
