Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Nov 27: The district police joined hands with police personnel from neighbouring districts who were posted here, in managing the three-day Hindu Dharma Sansad and the Hindu Samajotsava organized on Sunday, and worked strenuously day and night to ensure that the event passes off without any undesirable development. Nowhere did any mistake happen on the part of the police in maintaining peace and order throughout the programmes, nor did the general public cause any serious problem.

The police had organized well-planned parking of vehicles, controlled density of vehicles on roads, and redirected vehicles through inner roads during processions which moved on the main road. Traffic therefore was properly controlled.

In the afternoon on Sunday, vehicular traffic from the city to Indrali had been totally banned. Because of these measures, no untoward incidents happened and Hindu Samajotsava proved to be a success. Organizers of Hindu programmes lavishly praised district superintendent of police, Dr Sanjeev M Patil, for utilizing human resources properly and working on all the three days of the programme.

Police were aided by home guards personnel and volunteers from various Hindu organizations in maintaining law and order. People who took part in the Samajotsava procession and activists ensured that peace and order were maintained all thorugh.

Spent around 10 crores for Dharma Sansad. Thousands of Hindus living in houses without proper roof, water leaking during rain, do not get two time meal. If they have utilised this money to constructing houses for poor Hindus who do not have shelter, that would have become the task of Dharma. This is nothing but preparation for next election .

Police were efficient and controlled the situation well. But what we have seen is the volunteers maintained discipline and was helping in co ordinating the traffic. Roads were cleaned at the time of procession. If some thing comes voluntarily we do not have any problems.

Udupi ios fortunate in having such an efficient officer in the district.Mr. Sanjiv Patil is an action oriented and result oriented man. He is a man of few words and kind to the honest people and ruthless to the mischief mongers. He had done a great job in Mangalore and the people were not happy over his transfer away from Mangalore.

Organizers of Hindu programmes have rightly and lavishly praised Dr Sanjeev M Patil, for utilizing human resources properly and working on all the three days of the programme.

    Congrats to you Mr. Patil.
