Mangaluru: Team Nirmaan Homes clinch Corporate Cricket Bash trophy

Mangaluru, Nov 27: Team Nirmaan Homes, representing one of Mangaluru's top builders and developers, emerged champions in the 'Corporate Cricket Bash 2017', after beating Sri Ganesh Shipping by 34 runs on Sunday, November 27, at Sahyadri College turf ground here.

In the final battle, Nirmaan Homes scored 85 runs in 10 overs, after winning the toss and electing to bat. Akshay top scored with 35 runs. In reply, Sri Ganesh Shipping was bundled out for 51 runs in 9.3 overs. Krishna Raj, captain of Nirmaan Homes team and Sachin bagged 2 wickets each.

Krishna Prasad was adjourned 'Man of the Match', while the 'Man of the Series' trophy was bagged by Karthik. The prize for 'Best Batsman' was awarded to Akshay Kumar.

In the semi-final match, Nirmaan Homes beat Forum Fiza Mall by 39 runs.

A total of 24 teams took part in the tournament, which commenced on November 23. Nirmaan Homes took home the winning trophy and cash prize of Rs 2 lac. Runners-up trophy and Rs 1 lac prize money went to Sri Ganesh Shipping.

Kariappa, KPL cricketer, Mithun Rai, Youth Congress district president, Mohiuddin Bava, MLA, and Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, graced the concluding ceremony of the tournament.
