Mysuru: 'Reek of urine' - MP Pratap Simha launches tirade against Prof Chandrashekhar Patil

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Nov 28: Local MP, Pratap Simha, launched a verbal onslaught against president of Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, Prof Chandrashekhar Patil (Champa). Simha is angry that Patil had given tongue lashing to union minister, Ananth Kumar, at the valedictory of 83rd Kannada Sahitya Sammelan which was held in the city.

Simha picked up the comment, "When he came to know that I am secular, Ananth Kumar wet his clothes like the children wetting beds at night" for hitting back. "I am not aware whether what Champa said was right or wrong. But I can vouch for the fact that the moment Champa opens his mouth, he reeks of urine. His inaugural address as well the valedictory speech were stinking," Pratap Simha said at a press conference held here on Monday November 27.

Pratap Simha

"Are you in order in seeking votes based on your political views? Are you not functioning like a stooge of Siddaramaiah? We are neither facing intellectual bankruptcy nor do we need your tips on secularism," he said. He also reminded Champa that when he had fought election from Chamarajpet constituency, he could get only 232 votes, which depicts how far people respect him. He wondered why with age Champa has not matured.

Noting that Chmpa had neither offered puja to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari nor worn the customary Mysore Peta, he wanted to know whether this is the way he shows off his love for Kannada. Saying that this is an insult to local people, he felt that Champa has lots to learn from poet, Dr K S Nisar Ahmed, who had come to inaugurate Dasara celebrations.

Pratap expressed his resentment at neglecting Suttur Math Swamiji, not making him chief patron of the Sammelan orgaizing committee, not inviting the members of the lineage of Mysuru kings, failing to create hoarding for celebrated writer, S L Bhyrappa while flexes of several other poets and writers were displayed. "I touched your feet. But you seem to be suffering from lack of decency to even speak a few good words about me. You are like water from the sewer," he added.

Kannada had very good writers and poets.
    And were non-political.
    Now it is mobile yuga.
Influence can be seen on Kannada writers.
By the way i remember some great names like Kumarvyasa, Sarvajna, kuvempu, Shivram Karanth etc. They were great authors...
