Kundapur, Nov 29: A tea-seller who had put up his stall near the bus stand here was allegedly assaulted by a hotel owner here on Wednesday November 29.

It is learnt that with great difficulty, the tea-seller had managed to save some money to buy a flask. He was earning his livelihood by selling tea to shopkeepers near the bus stand.

However, the hotel owner allegedly tried to put him out of business. On Wednesday, the hotelier confronted him and questioned, "I have secured a licence from the town council to run this hotel. With whose permission are you selling tea here?"

This led to a full-fledged argument between the two.

Out of anger, the hotelier then allegedly threw away the tea-seller's flask and assaulted him.

Kundapur police who arrived at the spot warned the hotelier. They then got a new flask for the tea-seller and instructed the hotelier to provide compensation to the tea-seller. The matter was then settled.

Never beat Chaiwaalas, even if they are indulged in wrong doings or criminal act. Otherwise, FEKU will highlight this matter in his 'MonkeyBath' and cry like kid and out of sympathy, the same chaiwaala you beaten will become political leader in your locality/district/state!

Many companies have stopped of chai during working hours and post of a chaiwale in the pantry stands canceled.

Many chaiwales have jobs due to one chaiwale who has created a trouble and havoc for th whole nation.

No doubt the police is scared of the chaiwale not the hotelier.

If hotelier wants he can start selling tea in flask. But, he doesn't have the right to stop others from doing so.

The situation in India is getting alarming. Why do people take the law in their hands is the big question. If this behaviour goes unchecked violence will only breed more violence.

Hotelier is not the person to ask tea seller with whose permission he is selling. Both can do the tea selling, one inside other outside. There is no need to assault a poor person trying to earn money .Good the police have given the road seller the right. and compansate him.still hotelier should have get some punishment and some warning. Here hotelier must have thought he will runaway.I have the money and can do what I want.

India is a democracy with equality to every citizen. This assaulting a poor man and humiliating in public is really condemnable. Sorry to hear the matter is settled by just giving compensation, and without any action on the assaulter.

Agree with your comments. Karnataka was peaceful during Jagadish Shettar government......

But now it is Congress government and the CM is Siddaramiah, He knows what is hunger and that is why the tea seller could resume his tea selling job and police have instructed the Hotel owner to compensate the poor tea seller. This is the difference in Congress rule. At least, poor man is allowed to live and earn his living.

Most of the cases police giving judgement...
    Here assault has taken place.
How this hotelier actions are bailable?
Moreover judge need to decide that...

If just some arguments taken place then it is bailable....
