Consumers today like to own what is seen on runways: Nishka Lulla

Mumbai, Dec 1 (IANS): Designer Nishka Lulla says that consumers today have became the part of "global social media community" and take no time to buy what they see on runways.

"In recent times, there has been a huge shift towards the 'See Now, Buy Now' model in the fashion industry. Consumers today have become a part of the global social media community, and like to own what is seen on runways and at fashion weeks immediately. So, in a sense the industry has become very quick, keeping designers on their toes at all times," said Nishka

Fashion was the most natural calling for Nishka who grew up under the creative influence of her mother, renowned designer Neeta Lulla.

The young and vibrant designer who has dressed and styled the likes of Tamannah Bhatia, Saina Nehwal, Soha Ali Khan and Esha Gupta, says that this season is all about bling.

"This season, I expect a lot of bling, Gatsby inspired embroidery, and shimmery outfits, given that it is the festive season. Also, I've seen a lot of red, which I also expect to see in 2018 collections as well.

"It can almost be seen as the official colour of 2017. I also see 2018 being a very colourful season, taking inspiration from the rainbow. Opt for outfits in solid, bold colours.", said Nishka of upcoming trends for the season.

The designer was seen at Fashion Talks by Lakmé Fashion Week at WeWork office spaces, where she discussed her design journey and the future of the fashion industry.
