nobody is giving a communal angle to this report. They all are stressing Konkani, the language brought from Goa to Mangalore and DK by the Konkanas who were originally GSBs. The indigenous people learnt the language later. Jai Hind Konkani, and congratulations to the first in rank civil servant in GOK.

Heartiest congratulations Ratna Prabha Madam. You made Karkala proud.

Karkala has yet another feather in it's cap. Not many know that India's first Muslim Lady IAS officer, Late Mrs.Yasmin Ahmed had her roots in Karkala. She was the grand daughter of Late H. S. Hussain, a Karkala based lawyer and member of Madras Legislative council and a great grand daughter of Udupi Abdulla Saheb, Founder of Corporation Bank. Mrs. Yasmin Ahmed held many coveted posts and retired as the Chairperson of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. She expired two years back.
