Kasargod: Woman from Hassan found dead in school well, husband taken into custody

Kasargod, Dec 20: A woman hailing from Hassan in Karnataka was found dead in a well at Perla here on Wednesday December 20.

The deceased has been identified as Poornima (34), wife of Hassan resident Annappa.

The body was found in a well in the premises of a private school in Perla town.

Annappa and Poornima were employed as civic workers under Enmakaje gram panchayat. The couple was staying in Radio Nilaya building in Perla.

It is said that Poornima went missing on Monday December 18 night, and Annappa was searching for her. It is said that Annappa had spoken about her disappearance to several people. Her body was finally located in the well.

Fire brigade personnel and Badiadka station police who arrived at the spot lifted the body up. The body has been sent to Kasargod general hospital for post-mortem.

Annappa had not informed the police that his wife was missing. Police have taken him into custody for questioning.

Locals informed that the couple used to quarrel every night.

Badiadka police are investigating.
