Abolish the private bus mafia only waiting for that day. I mean city ,service, and express buses in the twin districts of Udupi and DK . Then we will notice the difference. These buses are only killer buses.

dear ... Raghavendra M K, ... subhodh ... Jossey Saldanha... santhu birve... nothing will happen as you mentioned... RTO will not do anything.... Police will not do anything... no compensation... nothing. It's just a count + to the authorities and the statistics. nothing else will happen. Our express drivers are licensed to kill anybody. they are under the safe banner so called Bus owners , Associations , Police and RTO. You just see tomorrow, same bus will be plying on the same road, same driver will be driving the bus... as if nothing happened. We have seen thousands of such instances.... Nothing happened in case of so many major and ghastly accidents because of bus drivers... now, one rag picker died , do you think system will change... I bet NO.

NH66 become very dangerous for travel. but at the same time we need to blame our RTO also. bcoz in most of the survice roads are being occupied by local shops/garage. for example, in kinnimulki there is a flyover but we cannot use that bcoz the service road is blocked & that place is used by the garage & other shops. this road was completed long back around 1 year but still it is not opened for public. it is also explored during SP Phone-in program but no use.

i agreed the view of subhodh, the authorities should clears all the shops and garages in service road so that the common pedestrians can take use of this road. moreover the overhead bridge in Karavali/malple road junction at udipi should complete soon.

Any body who are comming out of their house must carry Aadharcard or any ID with them compulsory because the killer buses will come and kill you. It will be easier for Police to recognise the injured or dead body.

Express Buses or Killer Buses, what should one call them. God Save the pedestrians from these speeding buses. All those talks about buses to have speed monitors, GPS systems etc have all gone out of window and these killer drivers are back again. Problem with our system is that if owners of these buses pay a bribe, all these cases go without any issue. This same driver will start driving within 15days may be.
Concerned Department Officials : Please ensure these drivers are punished in such a manner that other drivers get nervous and will be scared to commit any such heinous crime in future.

Don't punish the bus because, the bus driver is maintaining the timings. Nationalise the private buses. So far how many innocent people they have killed. Hopeless administration.

Though it may not be related to this particular accident, you have made a very good point here...

For the information of general public who keep complaining about rash express bus drivers, they are required to maintain a stipulated time failing which their trip will be cancelled which causes inconvenience to both bus operators and passengers.
During peak times, buses are expected to even drive at no less than 80km/hr to maintain the '1-2 minute' gap between the bus before and after it.

I honestly feel this is the real cause of such accidents. To keep such stringent timings for buses is not viable. It'll work well for Mumbai local trains because there's no traffic on the tracks but on a highway used by vehicles and pedestrians moving at different speeds, maintaining timings will be highly dangerous.

The bus authorities have to come up with a different solution to this problem. We need plentiful express buses between Udupi and Mangalore but asking them to maintain the '1-2 minute' gap is definitely a killer game.

how he is maintaining timings? in each bus stop he is wasting around 2 min & he will start only when he saw the next bus behind him. then they will drive the bus like aeroplane.

    RIP

God only can save us from this "Express"Buses since no one attempted to control them so far due the Mafia and officials involved under the gloves,
So no one can toke them to ..........................................................Gallows!
Express buses got double license to kill?
What is express? there should be some speed limit and speed monitor device as well.
She the impact of hit bus only got damaged then what is the condition of human being?
