I agree that, the place was congested for people to move around as the NH 48 highway and the state highway intercession was very close to the market place. These shops were not an over night start, they existed due to the demand, and since the people pouring in the shops expanded and created this situation.

The vendors should be provided a place for rehabilitation and start a market place which can be convenient for the general public. The shops were not just existed for decoration of the city they were meeting the demands of the people and were a convenience for the society. The place was also a market place on Saturday evening for which the groceries were moved from Mani weekend market.

The move to demolish the illegal shops came to effect only after BJP came to power means something is fishy in Kalladka.One should not forget that, Kalladka is a sensitive area since Ishmael Killing during Indhira Gandhi regime. The move here clearly indicates that the authorities are backed by the local political leaders who were waiting for the BJP coming to power.

If the corporation and Gram Panchayat had true intentions of cleaning the city then they could have done so in summer time which was more convenient period for the vendors to move to other place. They made big news by demolishing the illegal shops which were operating for ages but what measures they have undertaken for the rehabilitation for the families affected who earn a lively hood using this place. The demolition is not the solution here.

The Corporation and Gram Panchayat should have provided a market place for the vendors and the people of Kalladka. This place is located on the NH 48 and convenient market place for the people covering from all the surrounding villages. The move here clearly reflects that, some local political leaders are showing off their political muscle power to prove that and the corporation and gram panchayat is their puppet now.

The corporation and Gram Panchayat have done demolitions of the shops during rainy seasons means they intentionally doing this to harm a particular group of community which could not be fulfilled during the Kumara swami Regime.

If the demolition was actually motivated with public interest it is welcome. Same concern should be extended to all places so that public get a confidence that the administration works impartially. Once the administration starts working according to principle of law then they will not be obstructed by anybody irrespective of their religion, or economic staus- in fact they will support.But many times such actions are isolated and on Ad-hoc basis.Some times Akrama becomes Sakrama . Sometimes Sakrama today becomes Akrama tomorrow.

Sometimes courts also give stay orders which are enjoyed by the violators for decades and the administrations will not challenge it for a long time-whereas some others dont get such a bonanza!There is no consistency .Today they may demolish something and the operations stop for next few months or years.

My request with authorities is if you act- Act as per rule of law and impartially and in a transparent manner.The religion or economic status should not be an obstruction to enforce law.Unless any structure is of historic importance there should not be any problem.But impartial and extensive action irrespective of any other considerations reinfoces faith in administration.

The local authority is doing a wonderful job by demolishing the illegally occupied land for business by vendors. but also should think of the poor vendors who depend on the day today earning. they should be provided with alternate plans otherwise the whole family of the vendors depending on them will be effected. make alternate arrangements for them and then do the demolishing work. Unity in diversity is the beauty of india. respect to all religion and culture should be up held.

Some people have already started giving this issue a fanatic religious name. please stop this ideas of "katte" patte etc. Mind it, Indians are not like Pakistanis or any other islamic country where minorities are treated like animals without even right to speak. do not forget that.

Its nice to know that these petty shops have been demolished. But I also would like to mention these shop keepers definetly were paying Hafta (bribe) to either panchayat or police man to continue...don't you think these people who were taking bribe should be punished? if you want to know who were those people then the petty shop keepers can give you information about them...

Encroachments on puplic places, which are really a nuisance to pedastrians in the growing traffic problems are welcome. THe pedestrians in Kalladka are forced to walk on road b ecause of thses encroachments. Kudos to Panchayat for the bold actiontaken.Most of these shops start as push carts with wheels and get stuck on foot path or other public places and then sink roots.

I really appriciatre these kind of efforts to make the city clean and neat as like developed city, at the same time authority should take action on every obstacles which distrubs the city, example I have seen there are big ashoka trees middle of the road for the ashok trees people have built some kind of katte and started worship the katte and now it is big obstacle to make the road wider, i hope authority will take proper action these kind katte all over south canara

The Revenue department and Gram Panchayath should follow "Rajadharma" by treating all the citizens equal. Now places of worship also emerging as a new business hub which takes place without the scanner of any departments. so revenue department should treat these "Kattes" same as fruit vendors or else in future the whole place will come under temples or Mosques.
