Mangaluru: Deepak murder politically motivated, says MLA Bava, announces compensation

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Jan 4: MLA Mohiuddin Bava on Thursday December 4 expressed suspicions that the murder of right-wing activist Deepak Rao in Katipalla, which falls under Bava's constituency, was 'politically motivated'.

Addressing a press meet here, Bava said, "I suspect that this murder is politically motivated as accused criminal Pinky Nawaz, his brother Laden Ismail and brother-in-law Mohammed Ali are BJP representatives in Suratkal and Kaup."

Deepak was hacked to death by four assailants in Katipalla on Wednesday January 3. Following the murder, the police arrested four persons in a dramatic chase. The opposition BJP and the right-wing organizations have risen in protest against the murder.

MLA Bava also announced compensation to the family of Deepak Rao. "I strong condemn the attack on Deepak Rao who lost his life. He was the lone bread winner as he lost his father and his brother is speech impaired. So I personally announce Rs 5 lac compensation to the family. I also assure to provide employment to Deepak's brother. I will also provide compensation of Rs 2 lac and Rs 50,000 each to the family of Ahmed Basheer and Mubashir who were attacked at Kottara Chowki and Suratkal, respectively."

Lauding the quick action of the police in arresting the accused hours after the murder, Bava said, "I highly appreciate the work done by the police who opened fire in order to nab the culprits. I will soon felicitate the police who were involved in the operation. I also appreciate the steps taken by the police to take Deepak's body to Katipalla and restrict the funeral procession to avoid any untoward incident.

"I wish the bullet which was fired at the culprits had pierced their body and killed them on the spot. I also wish that all the culprits be hanged," he added.

Suratkal block Congress president Keshav, Surendra, Prithviraj, corporator Prathiba Kulai and others were present.

Now everyone knows who was behind this murder. Poor family has lost a young son because of these political games. Police should also find out who ordered the killing and mercilessly arrest and send them to prison. I suspect recent phone calls for Hafta really come from local goondas to raise funds for the elections.

RIP brother Deepak, may god almighty give strength to the family to overcome this tragic loss. I do concur with mohideen bava, the culprits are seen with Palemar and Kalladka bhat and the whole family of the murders were actively campaigning for BJP, in order to fulfil Amit shah's commitment BJP has may be gone to this extent. Now BJP is hell bent to do some communal disturbance at least to gain power for them death is not important, victim and murderers religion is important. when murders came to katipalla and carrying out the crime the local muslims thrown stone at the murderers, they tred to waylaid to them in order to catch them and they guided the police to chase by showing the way. Deepak was working under a muslim guy thus shows common people still belive in humanity rather religion

in another incident happened at Mangalore some miscreants brutally attacked a muslim merchant and two Hindu brothers ( ambulance drivers) took him to hospital and saved his life.

congress and BJP both needs life to garner their votes but common man should realise their tactics.

Surathkal MLA - Bava woke up just now!!

Too late, being an representative you should be the first reaching out the family member of the deceased irrespective of religion/ political party.

Personel ego being connected to religious and party symbol, and respective & individual are using it for their vote bank politics.

Mangalore people are peace loving, enjoy life to the core, present situation have made things worse, we've lost freedom to roam- Beach, park.

Those involved in (moral Police- IN ) should bother about their mother and sisters, rather involve in somebody else family member roaming free in park ir beach, what bothers them. Our woman should fight and showcase their power, sueing the people in Jail forever. No bail nothing, just the four walls then these people will learn.

People"s mindset should change, rather disturb the freedom to enjoy life.

It is very clear that congress does not want communal trouble as election nearing as it will surely erode congress votes of Hindus and on the other hand BJ P wil benefit as it wil create sympathy wave for BJP as they assert that they are the party of majority community.

You are a true leader and a follower of Dharma. Well done! You have to serve the people irrespective of caste and religion affiliation.

However, I am surprised to hear that the accused are BJP members. So its now clear that this was orchestrated considering the next year elections. Amit Shah strategy is being deployed. Common man of Mangalore has to suffer more because of Bharat Jalao Party.
