Mangaluru: Family in dire straits - Deepak's friends appeal for financial assistance

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 5: Deepak Rao's income was meagre. He faced financial constraints. Although he used to share his problems with his friends, he never sought their assistance to tide over the financial crisis. With the death of the man who was the lone financial support for the family, friends of Deepak have spread an appeal through Faceboook and WhatsApp, seeking the well-wishers and philanthropists to extend a helping hand to the devastated family by remitting funds to the bank account standing in the name of Deepak's mother.

Deepak used to sell mobile SIM cards through line sale. He used to get salary of about Rs 12,000 per month out of which Rs 6,000 went towards housing loan installment while Rs 1,500 more got diverted towards repayment of bike loan. He gave Rs 2,500 to his mother for managing family expenses and he was left with about Rs 2,000 which he spent for petrol for his vehicle which he normally used to take part in the activities of various institutions and organizations in his village with which he was associated.

As long as he was alive, Deepak never sought financial help from anyone, although he revealed about the financial situation he was facing. To the best of his abilities, and within the limited resources he had, he used to look after his mother and the younger brother who is speech and hearing impaired.

A message seeking financial assistance to this distressed family which has lost its only earning member, is now being shared on social websites.

Only Deepak Rao family new what is the value of life. Perhaps they are the best people to advice these fanatics religious group to teach the negative effects of the enmity

No family wish to mourn the death of loved ones due his/her untimely death. This is the time to learn from Deepak Rao's death communal violence don't bring bring bread and butter only sorrow and mourning.

Instead of protesting VHP and Bajrang Dal members, let them announce one month salary to the victims family as financial assistance.

We do not want another Mesta, Deepak to lead Karnataka in the way of Godhra or Muzzafarnagar for political benefit of BJP.

All that we Kannadigas need is employment, shelter, food, health care, old age care, affordable living, our daughters and sisters walk safely, affordable qualify essential commodity and so on.

I appeal to 100% literate Mangaloreans to think wisely to elect peoples representative who respect the the humanity with any caste and creed.

Please keep political parties aside now. Remember a mother lost her only bread earning innocent son. Before supporting any political party we have to be a good human being first.

RIP Deepak... Really heart wrenching pain of a mother and tragic end of a budding life.. I will surely contribute from my end, however no donation can ever fill in the vacuum in his family.. I truly hope the youth of Mangalore learns from this tragedy and do not given in to the tunes of political parties, may it be BJP, Congress or any other party.. Folks political parties/extremists have no soul and will go to any extent to win an election in a country like India.. Be intelligent and participate democratically in the nation building exercise.. Please keep religion at home, keep humanity above everything else and LIVE and LET LIVE.. I truly hope that the past glory of Mangalore is restored and peace and brotherhood prevails over extremism, hatred and dirty political blood games claiming the lives of innocent.. May common sense prevail in our youth and communal harmony sustained...

To which "Nationalist cultured party" Pinky Nawaz and his team belonged...Don't believe in crocodile tears of the politicians...They don't care killing their own for electoral benefits...Common man has to suffer in the end...
When Ashraf was murdered he was ferrying old handicapped man from another community and he was his regular costumer
When Sharath was murdered it was a Muslim man who tried to rescue him none from BD gang...
Employer of Deepak was a Muslim ..and they were too close...
When Basheer was stabbed who is in serious situation ..It was person from another community who informed police
Don't let any political party exploit the situation ....They may go to Delhi to meet rajnath...but maynot find same courage to rescue someone in their own backyard

Only reason was to bring the current government down. Look how cheap a party can get for the sake of vote bank. I dont just blame BJP for this. It can visa versa too. But just see how politicians are Mangalore as a battle field.
