Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru Jan 24: Mangaluru city police took stringent action against a bus conductor based upon a complaint received during police phone-in programme on January 19.

A caller had complained about the conductor of 15A private bus issuing fake tickets to the passengers. The caller said the ticket did not contain correct bus number. The police commissioner had asked the caller to send the bus ticket and assured to book a case against the conductor for issuing fake ticket.

Responding to the complaint, Mangaluru city police under the direction of police commissioner T R Suresh and ACP (traffic) Manjunath Shetty, stopped the bus 15A named ‘Suprabhata’ bearing registration number KA 19 B 7567 coming from KPT to Nanthoor on January 20.

Upon checking, the police found that the conductor named Jagadish was collecting money by issuing tickets of another bus with registration number KA 19 AA 7799. Jagadish was involved in cheating both passengers and the bus owner by issuing fake tickets this way.

Mangaluru East police station took the bus into their possession.

A case stands registered against the conductor.

Many city buses run without break lights. These lights need to come on when a break is applied. Their indicator lights are also some times not functioning.

The following routes were observed without proper break lights : 19, 15, 31, 33.

It would be nice if any kind of religious processions, or demonstrations be banned on the streets. As it is the streets are packed, there is enough traffic, moreover, processions of any kind add to the confusion. The other day, an ambulance had a very tuff time reaching hospital due to the jam created by the processions which serve no purpose.

Please stop these processions its creating problem for the public. I am Muslim so I will not comment on the other religion so I am against my people who do procession in the name of Eid Milad.. ALLAH doesn't need our procession please my brothers stop this kind of stuffs which disturbs our fellow Indians.
I live in a Muslim country and I have traveled to 3 Muslim countries and I have never seen such processions in those countries, if it was allowed in Islam then all the 55(Approx) Islamic countries would have done before us..."BITTER TRUTH"

@Ivar mangalore, noone denies the demokratic land and strikes are part of it.But due to our demokratic rights one should be also given a chance to get medical help when sick. Strikes are to be controlled by police and see that a ambulance should be allowed to carry a patient to hospital.sometimes some strikes ,are really needed.it is more a mob than needy.

My kind request to RTO and concerened authorities to remove sound systems from the public buses, as the loud speakers are kept under the seats and some in cabin, its irritates the passengers most of sick, old aged even for young people. Mainly in summer season when you feel uneasyness with the heat sweat etc these sounds in packed busses are really a nightmare for the passengers.

I wish someone will act on this issue..........

Our main problem is rash driving and rude behavior because of this many people were seriously injured and lost their lives.
Don't act like henpecked husband to show you are genuinely solving the problems.
We know you are constraint to act because of powerful bus lobby.
