Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jan 25: A student allegedly committed suicide in a college at Moodbidri here on Thursday January 25.

The deceased has been identified as Rachana M, a native of Chitradurga

She was a student of second PU science in Alva's College.

Sources said that as study holidays are going on, she visited the college library and then went to a classroom on the fifth floor, from where she jumped to her death.

She left behind a death note, in which she reportedly stated that she was taking the extreme step as she could not cope with her ill health. However, sources also said that she was depressed over scoring low marks in exams. It is said that she had earlier undergone counselling sessions.

Moodbidri police have registered a case.

Very sad.I am sure she must have jumped not of her own.Are there no cctv cameras which might reveal a clue? When hse went to a class room from library then jumped from there means some incident made her to jump to escape?compare other cases. These frequent cases of suecide increases in this particular college, thourough investigation is need of the hour. How many parents have to loose their children still?Wake up college team.with all her death note ,is not a proof it really truth is.when in future parents should take out their children from thi scollege suppose some problem they smell.Let your child choose another topic suppose he/she is not capable of studying this.World doesnt exist on only medical and engineering.Dont pressure please.May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.

Very sad ,such incidents keep recurring in mudabidre. High expectations from the parents and the college side may be responsible for the loss of innocent life.Pressure and depression are the causes of this tragedy.Who will bell the cat?

What is needed most in India now
    1. Excellent Psychiatric help to all needy free of cost sponsored by Govt .All Govt hospitals are doing very good job but the public are not aware of that .We also need to create more
2.Parents ,Teachers etc should stop this Engineering Medical Mad race .If your child is good and want that put in that don't force them into it .Rest of the fields are in fact equally great in fact more great in some cases
    3. Always fill children's mind with Hope
