Mangalore, Aug 1: The residents of the city were not able to view the partial solar eclipse that occurred on Friday, August 1, owing to thick clouds.
Previously, the astronomy club of St Aloysius College had made arrangements for viewing solar eclipses on the college premises. As the college has a telescope, it afforded a better view of the eclipses. However, this time around it was not possible due to incessant rain and clouds.
The city streets were deserted during the time of the eclipse, except for a few public and private vehicles, as most people avoided venturing out during the time.
Daijiworld.com’s, ace photographer, Dayanand Kukkaje, has been successful in clicking spectacular photographs of the partial solar eclipse for viewers to glimpse.
